Alexandre dos Santos Cunha, LL.B., LL.M., S.J.D., is a Research and Planning Expert at the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA), a governmental think tank linked to the Brazilian Ministry of Planning and Budget, in which he currently holds the position of Chief of Staff to the President. Before joining his current organisation, he was a Law Professor and full-time researcher at Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). Besides acting as a thinktanker, he is also a Borderland Studies Professor at the Mato Grosso do Sul Federal University (UFMS). He is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, English and French.
