Nisha Onta
Founder and Executive Director, Governance Lab (GovLab)

Nisha is the Founder and Executive Director of the Governance Lab (GovLab). She is a gender and climate change expert with a decade of experience and excels in managing research projects, capacity-building programmes, and advocacy at regional and international levels. Leading policy research in South Asia and Southeast Asia, she focuses on climate change adaptation, livelihood diversification, and gender. Active in climate change workshops and conferences, Nisha contributes to gender and climate change scholar networks and is a guest lecturer at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand.

She served on the steering committee of the EmPower: Women for Climate Resilient Societies Project, a five-year initiative funded by SIDA, and represents NGOs on the Grow Asia Partners Advisory Council. As the Founder of Governance Lab in Nepal, Nisha holds a PhD in Gender and Development Studies from the Asian Institute of Technology.
