Olivia Darby
Chief Programmes Officer, WONDER Foundation

After finishing school I did two things that changed my perspective before going to university: working a minimum wage job alongside migrants and teaching in a Nairobi school. These experiences have since informed my work to alleviate poverty and champion the value of every person alongside local, lived expertise.

This informed me in co-founding WONDER Foundation which has now worked with 150,000 women and girls through partnerships in 24 countries. Celebrating and building local leadership and excellence and amplifying the voices of these women and girls has always informed our mission and research. Now we are better established we aspire to do this more strategically and rigorously.

Prior to working at WONDER, I gained professional experience in several areas: leading the youth service of the Baytree Centre in London, working many with marginalised migrant families; in the European Parliament; and in policy roles at NGOs and a small think tank.
