Dr Sarena Che Omar is the Chief Executive Officer of PNB Research Institute, where she leads policy research aligned with Permodalan Nasional Berhad’s nation-building mandate. With over twelve years of experience in research and public policy, she previously served as Deputy Director at the Khazanah Research Institute, where she established and led the national-level agriculture and food security research portfolio. Her work has informed major government strategies and is the author of multiple policy reports on food security and the paddy industry. Dr Sarena holds a DPhil in Plant Science from the University of Oxford and holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from Lincoln University, New Zealand.
