Vegard Beyer
Director of Partnerships and Communications - Future Matters

Vegard Beyer is a Co-Founder and Partner at Future Matters, a Berlin-headquartered think tank working on global catastrophic risks, including climate protection and AI governance across the EU, US, and UK. He leads the organisation’s climate and partnerships departments, engaging directly with the European institutions, national policymakers, and international stakeholders on high-impact policy initiatives. Future Matters has been credited with bringing high-impact climate measures into EU policy proposals, Strategic Agendas and German government plans, and has served non-profits and advocates in over 80 projects.
Before co-founding Future Matters, Vegard co-founded and led Fridays for Future Germany’s nationwide citizen advocacy and training programmes (2019-2021), training over 450 advocates. He holds a degree in Communication Design from Hochschule Niederrhein, where his research focused on failure patterns of science communication and strategy for public-interest advocates. He also serves as Vice-Chair of the Effective Thesis board.
